been beading..

Beading and traveling and beading some more!

I’ve been working hard as I hope to announce the date of a holiday soon.

Stay tuned!

bead workshop

I hosted a beading workshop last week at my home.  I love teaching others how to bead and watching which combination of colors and beads they choose for themselves.  It helps me when creating for shows and when shopping for beads.

Here is what we created Wednesday: click any photo for larger view!

Just look at the expertise in this wire wrapping:

Would you like to host a bead workshop?  Send me a note and let’s talk about what that could look like.  So many options!

Chihuly exhibt!

My husband and I spent a wonderful afternoon touring the Chihuly Exhibit at the Frederick Meyer Gardens.  We loved it so much, we decided to become members!

Check out my pictures below.  The Autumn plants made for a stunning background of Chihuly’s work.  Oh and yes, that is a necklace made by Jenny’s Jewels!  Click on any photo to view it larger.

fan photos

I put so much love and attention into each one of my pieces, so when I get a photo of someone wearing my jewelry, it makes me soooo happy.

This one taken on the shore of Lake Michigan this summer.  Thanks for sharing Jenn!

Did someone happen to take a photo of you while you were wearing one of my pieces?  I’d love to see it!  If you send to me, let me know if I can feature you on my blog. :)

NYC and matching jewels

I’m starting to lose count as to how many NYC and Chicago architectural tours we’ve taken this summer.   To quote a friend of mine, “They’ll never know what they aren’t missing”

Here I am pictured in the lovely central park downtown NYC.  Like always I’m wearing one of my favorite pieces carefully coordinated to my outfit.  I’m thankful I decided to match *small* jewelry to every outfit verses shoes.  Could you imagine the collection I’d have?

with a necklace perfect for that little black dress!  At least that’s what I’m wearing with these:

I’m featured :)

I’ve just been featured on a blog!  Check it out here – along the right side there is a panel featuring items from my Etsy store.

new necklace

Our week at Sail View was so relaxing.  I love that we can hear the waves reach the shore and casually glance out the window to see Lake Michigan.  It’s such a treat.

I also did some beading!   I spent four hours piecing these together.  The necklace has seven strands while the bracelet, five.  The most fun was choosing the beads for each.   Viola:  here they are:

more summer vacation

Girls gotta have a little fun!  Pictured here with Pia before our Colorado river rafting adventure.  Pia and her mom visited from Germany for a few weeks and we took them on an old fashioned road trip; destinations Wyoming and Colorado.

more Americana

The fun thing about hosting foreign exchange students is experiencing true American culture and showing off our great cities, states, and attractions.  What says Americana more than baseball?

So, there we were sweating our SOX off in Chicago on a gorgeous Thursday afternoon watching an awesome game.
